Fall Fest and Social Ministry Fair

Sunday, October 20, 2019 - 10:30am - 11:30am

Our Sunday School hour on October 20 will be a Fall Fest, beginning with a Service Scavenger Hunt (learning more about the social ministry organizations that our congregation supports), then on to fall-themed carnival games and pumpkin painting. Add in some apple cider, popcorn and other goodies and you have yourself one great event! Hope to see you at 10:30am on October 20 in the First Baptist gym!

Bible Overview Classes

Sunday, September 8, 2019 - 10:30am - 11:30am

Help your young reader become familiar with the greatest book that was ever written - the Bible. Pastor Kathy will be leading a class for students who are entering 3rd grade and up. Parents assist their child in finding passages as we move from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

These classes will take place over two consecutive Sunday School class periods: September 8 and 15.

On September 15, new bibles are presented to 3 year olds, 3rd graders and 7th graders.

Sunday School Age Levels

Our Sunday School time begins at 10:30am with music and story intro in the Chapel (main floor of First Baptist on the east end of the building). Our classes are tailored to each age and stage.  Read more »

Make a Difference in the Life of a Child

What a privilege it is to share God's story with our young people! Our rotation model of Sunday School means that you prepare your lesson once and then teach it 1-3 weeks to different age groups of children. Materials are provided and team-teaching is encouraged! For more information, please contact Deaconess Debbie. Check out the online sign up here. Thank you!

Living Our Baptism

This year our Sunday School lessons will help us live into the promises parents and congregation make when a child is baptized. Each month we will explore a different promise through bible stories and special activities. Parents will begin the year by renewing their baptismal promises and will receive the book, "Living the Promises of Baptism: 101 Ideas for Parents." A monthly communication from Deaconess Debbie will help make connections between that month's topic and ideas from the book that can be used at home. Join us on September 15 for the kick-off of this special year-long focus on Living Our Baptism!

Good Shepherd PrayGround

Good Shepherd values our children! When we return to our renovated space, we will once again have a Prayground space front and center.

What's a "Prayground"? It's a dedicated space in our church where little ones (suggested for ages 5 and under) can play, color and explore. It's a space where they can see and hear the pastor and worship leaders clearly. And it's a place where the congregation can celebrate the joy that your child--wiggles, noises and all--brings to our congregation!

In the meantime, look for activity bags for children as well as a staffed nursery during our worship service at the First Baptist temporary location.

* Please note the change in start time! For this program year, we will be worshiping at 9:00am. Sunday School will begin at 10:30am in the Chapel. Please contact Deaconess Debbie if you have any questions.
