Faith Formation in Pandemic Times

During this time in our world where we cannot come together in person to worship or participate in faith formation activities at church, I am reminded that the most influential people in developing faith in our children are their parents. Despite the many things that pull our children in so many directions, it is the words and actions of parents that run the deepest in our children's minds and hearts.

As the world around us is chaotic and crazy, our children will be looking to their parents to help make sense of it all. What a wonderful opportunity to reiterate the message of God's love and grace that surpasses everything. And to share the message that God walks with us through suffering and uncertainty.

ELCA Youth Gathering

COVID-19 has certainly changed plans for many of us in so many ways! One change is that the national ELCA Youth Gathering has been delayed from summer of 2021 to summer of 2022. The place is the same though: Minneapolis!

What is a Youth Gathering? Once every three years, Lutheran youth from across the US (and around the world) come together as one large community. For five days, we worship, serve, play, pray, commune, laugh, cry, dance and sing together, 30,000 strong! It is a youth experience unlike any other!
