Confirmation Points

Confirmation students are expected to actively participate in the life and ministry of the church. To that end, a "point system" has been developed to encourage students to engage in a variety of experiences.

Students will select from the following areas to accumlate a total of 40 points during the program year. Points should come from at least three different areas with half coming from Group A.

Group A (must total 20 from this group):

  1. Sermon Notes -- 2 points
  2. Acolyte -- 2 points (7th graders)
  3. Reader (8th graders) -- 2 points
  4. Communion Assistant (8th graders) -- 2 points

Group B:

  1. Greeter -- 2 points
  2. Sound board (training required) -- 3 points
  3. Altar Guild -- 3 points
  4. Usher -- 2 points
  5. Solo--instrument or voice -- 5 points
  6. Musical group--instrument or voice -- 3 points
  7. Puppet Ministry/Skit/Drama -- 5 points
  8. Assisting Minister (training required) -- 10 points

Group C:

  1. Committee Participant -- 5 points/meeting
  2. Church-Sponsored activity (CROP Walk, Donut Day, Oktoberfest, etc) -- 5 points
  3. Confirmation Retreat -- 5 points
  4. Self-initiated project (upon approval) -- 5-10 points
  5. "TalkPoint" Conversation with Parent (3 available) -- 5 points each

Once an activity is completed, please fill out an activity slip and turn it into Deaconess Debbie.
