Jazz Prayer: Jazz Goes to Hollywood

Friday, May 18, 2018 - 7:30pm

With the advent of "talking pictures" and the dawn of the Jazz age, it was inevitable that Jazz would find its way into Hollywood. Our May 18th Jazz Prayer, the last of this season, will feature a sampling of the jazz tunes that starred in the movies. Think: "Down Here on the Ground," by Lalo Schfrin, from the movie "Cool Hand Luke" and Duke Ellington's tunes that were featured in "Anatomy of a Murder." Doors open at 7:10pm for appetizers and conversation. Music begins at 7:30pm.  This non-denominational event creates an opportunity for reflection and meditation in an ambiance of quality live jazz music. You'll encounter an hour of music like this. Your donation helps.
