Sunday School

Sunday School 2018-2019

We may be in a new (temporary) building, but everything that makes Good Shepherd's Sunday School great is still in place! Join us on Sundays at 9:00am during our Education Hour for meaningful lessons about God's love for us and how we can show that love to others. We start in the Chapel with a group Opening, then head to the 3rd floor classroom space. Pick up is at 10:00am.

Be sure to register your students for this year's Sunday School! You can use our online form here or pick up a paper copy at church! Sunday School is for children that are age 2 through Grade 6.

Sunday School Age Levels

Our Sunday School time begins at 9:00am with music and story intro in the Chapel (main floor of First Baptist on the east end of the building). Our classes are tailored to each age and stage.  Read more »

Good Shepherd PrayGround

Good Shepherd values our children! We are currently working on setting up a PrayGround space in our temporary home at First Baptist Church, 820 Ontario St, Oak Park. The space should be set up by early November.

What's a "Prayground"? It's a dedicated space in our church where little ones (suggested for ages 5 and under) can play, color and explore. It's a space where they can see and hear the pastor and worship leaders clearly. And it's a place where the congregation can celebrate the joy that your child--wiggles, noises and all--brings to our congregation!

Good Shepherd is also pleased to offer a staffed nursery every week at our 10:00am worship service.

Make a Difference in the Life of a Child

What a privilege it is to share God's story with our young people! Our rotation model of Sunday School means that you prepare your lesson once and then teach it 1-3 weeks to different age groups of children. Materials are provided and team-teaching is encouraged! For more information, please contact Deaconess Debbie. Check out the online sign up here. Thank you!
